Welcome to the study, where we gather for book clubs and, you guessed it: studies! You’re welcome to join us solo in your coziest pj’s, or as a group complete with appetizers and wine. Either way, there’s nothing like connecting and growing with like-minded women. We’re your tribe, momma.
If you’ve visited the PtL Library, you know it takes a LOT for a book to wow its way to our lists. At PtL we know how precious your time and energy are. We want to support you in nourishing your family. Two books I’m currently reading carry great potential. These include Ann Voskamp’s The Broken Way, and Lisa Bevere’s Girls with Swords.
Some reviews of Girls with Swords include:
“Lisa Bevere is one of God’s most powerful voices for this time in our history. Her heart is for the King and His Kingdom, and to teach God’s daughters how to rise up and live out our destiny.”
—Sheila Walsh, author of God Loves Broken People and core speaker for Women of Faith
“In Girls with Swords, Lisa Bevere once again draws out the hero within and encourages us to become all God has created us to be. Her zeal to see the church united and wielding the word of God is inspiring and alive. No matter where you are in life, this message will empower you to “reforge your sword” and bravely face daily battles with courage and truth.”
—Stovall and Kerri Weems, pastors, Celebration Church, Jacksonville, Florida
And this is the description of the Broken Way at amazon.com:
New York Times best-selling author of One Thousand Gifts Ann Voskamp sits at the edge of her life and all of her own unspoken brokenness and asks: What if you really want to live abundantly before it’s too late? What do you do if you really want to know abundant wholeness? This is the one begging question that’s behind every single aspect of our lives — and one that The Broken Way – also a New York Times bestseller – rises up to explore in the most unexpected ways.
Whichever route we go, I promise either choice will prove to be empowering, life-giving, and a breath of fresh air to your soul. If you’d like to sign up for email updates, I’ll be sure to send an invite when the first one begins!
